Like, walking around and just being in a bookstore lets you check out so many books that catch your eye randomly, that you would never explicitly search for or even know to search for on Amazon, you know? It brings books into your field of attention you'd never know to look for. And on your second point yeah agreed, maybe it wasn't a waste of time after all, if there is such a thing

very good. I would still like to know how bookstores relate to the old dumb TVs, I seem to be missing the connect there.
I do miss the TV only era, it was very peaceful and did not feel like wasting time maybe because it did not actually waste time.
